"A Poppy of Various Hues": Well one from today, this and one from yesterday. I had a voice lesson and on my way home I checked into to a couple of my florists. The one had nothing special. The other had POPPIES! AGGGGGGHHHH!!! I have been waiting since last spring for someone to have these and she says she may get more this week. Happy. Love these flowers cause I just don't get to see them that much around here. And the poor florist was so appalled at the condition of the flowers, she would not charge me! Wanted to clean out the frdge for the weekend. You know where I'll be next week. Poppies!

"Verizon Abstract": Here's the formula: Polar Coordinates: rectangular to polar. Sperize 100%. USM: 70%, 100 pixels, 0 threshold. Rotate 180 degrees. Polar Coordinates: polare to rectangular. Rotate 90 degrees right. Flood to mirror. Rotate 90 degrees right. You can take it a step further, or too far (depending on your point of view) and get....

"Irises": My favorite flower. Can't shot them for the life of me...shoot gerbera, calla, tulips just about everything else better than an iris in studio. Guess because they just don't last cut, unless you live in a refrigerator. This is another DA I did today from the Philly GTG at Longwood Gardens last May. I decided to give the remaining water lilies a reprieve for a while and besides, I need a break from all those lines.LOL!

"Kimmel Verizon": The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is one of my favorite subjects. I love the architecture of the complex. I have shot if from on the street, from inside on ground level, from back stage when our choir has had occassion to perform there and from the top level of a parking garage located diagonally across the street from the rear of the center. I got some new views today from a different vantage point. There is a garden atop the smaller of the two main peformance halls in the center and I went up there today. I had a wonderful time seeing something different and new angles. This is one from there today.

"Gothic Night": Shot this last night on the way home from work. Only had my table top tripod with me which was very hard to level on a somewhat slick service of the top of a post by the MSB building. Buildings on N. Broad St, including the Scottish Rites Cathedral, with a nearly full moon over head.
So I'm standing there shooting this, holding on to the tripod and camera during a 2-3 second +/- 1/3 auto bracket exposure and someone has to come over and get chatty with me. Well it was ok but it startled me during one of the frames. He was talking cameras so I was OK with that. Nice little talk. He always did film and we talked about the differences to digital. As he was leaving he asked if I belonged to any clubs and I said only on line. "Look up DPChallenge!"
And,BTW...what is with the wacky weather. Wednesday was high 50's and a thunder storm. Yesterday was a little less warm and very heavy fog....you couldn't see the clock on City Hall tower from two blocks away. And now, of course, it's snowing! Guess it is because Stallone is in town making another Rocky movie?

"Walking in the Rain": I was waiting to go home from work the other night but we had a thunder storm....in the middle of winter! Well I stayed put as the heavens just opened up. So I was shooting from the overhang out side the office building doing the street lights and traffic lights reflected in the downpour on the side walk. Someone caught my eye and I pulled the camera up and this is the DA version of what I got.
